Fintel Industry Metrics

With a paid HillSearch Membership, you should not have to pay extra for any articles, reports or lists in any of the HillSearch databases, nor should you have to re-enter your login information. If you encounter this problem, please contact us at 651.265.5500 or 1.877.700.HILL (4455).

Fintel's Industry Metrics database includes common financial ratios for small, medium, and large private companies on an industry-wide basis. Industries are searchable by SIC or NAICS code, either by entering in the code directly or by using the pull down menus to drill down from broader to narrower industry descriptions.

Fintel provides three separate reports:

  1. Income statement and balance sheet data with industry information reported as a percent to sales revenue.

  2. Income statement and balance sheet data with industry information reported in dollars.

  3. 15 standard corporate ratios.

In all 3 reports, the data is displayed in 4 columns, indicating the median company financials for:

  1. The smallest 25% of companies by revenue (small).

  2. The middle 50% of companies by revenue (medium).

  3. The largest 25% of companies by revenue (large).

  4. The aggregate or total of all reported companies in the industry code.

Industry metrics (ratios) are useful for business executives and managers, credit executives, bankers, lenders, investors, academicians and students.

Note: If you do not see data in certain rows indicates that data was not available.
